Description
12mm Glass Balustrading/Glass Balustrade Panel - 700mm Wide x 970mm High
Important Update: As of May 1st, 2023, 12mm frameless glass panels are only suitable for decks, verandas, and balconies under 1 metre high, in line with the latest Australian regulations. For installations above 1 metre, please use our 15mm Glass Balustrade System.
What makes our Glass Panels superior to others?
Well, firstly, they are manufactured under DETAILED QUALITY CONTROL. At each stage of production (cutting, polishing, drilling, tempering and packing), dedicated Quality Control Personnel inspect each sheet of glass. Glass identified as not conforming to the highest quality standards is set aside.
The machines used are DOUBLE EDGE POLISHING MACHINES, which create perfectly polished and blemish free edges. A sophisticated water filtration system ensures clean water is used during polishing.
The glass panels are toughened, using annealed glass via a THERMAL TEMPERING PROCESS. The glass is placed onto a roller table, taking it through a specially designed furnace for heavy weight glass that heats it above its annealing point of approx 700 °C. The glass is then rapidly cooled with forced air drafts. Punch testing of toughened glass is conducted every hour as per Australian Standards.
Finally, the glass panels are HEAT SOAKED, an extra processing step that takes place after glass is toughened. This test seeks to induce breakage in the oven of any panels with NiS inclusion and/or excessive stress, minimising the chance of any onsite breakages.
The result is a truly superior product, which has been thorougly tested and meets the highest quality standards!
*Please check with relevant Building Code of Australia regulations and/or Australian Standards regarding specific requirements for heat soaked tempered glass.
