Gate Side Frame Kit - to suit Horizontal Aluminium Slats - (SLATS NOT INCLUDED)

• Suits our 65x16mm or 90x16mm Slats. Slats can be installed with no gaps or any desired gap between each slat.
• Slats are held in place with 4 screws per slat - 2 screws each side.

Gate Side Frame kit includes: (Must be cut to size).

1 x 5800mm Long Gate Side Frame Material - 50x50mm with a 25x25mm Slat Channel.

1 x 5800mm Snap-in Cover for 25x25mm Slat Channel (To hide screws).

2 x 50x50mm Aluminium Caps and 2 x 25x25mm Aluminium Caps. (Powder coated and colour matched to the gate frame). 

CUTTING ALUMINIUM NOTE: A proper aluminium cutting blade must be used to cut this material like this blade sold by Bunnings and used with a standard compound mitre saw like this 185mm Ozito one. (this is the only possible way to get a clean straight cut).

Whats NOT included:

Screws to screw off each slat. 

Slats to complete the gate.

Spacers. This system works best without permanent spacers. See photos... temporary spacers are used until all slats are screwed off. (See Instructions at bottom of page).

Option 1: 1 x Gates up to 2.9m High approx. or less. (Cut 2 x side styles from 1 x 5800mm lengths).

Option 2: 2 x Gates up to 1.45m High approx. or less. (Cut 4 x side styles from 1 x 5800mm lengths).

Option 3: 3 x Gates up to 960mm high approx. or less (Cut 6 x side styles from 1 x 5800mm lengths).

Note: At checkout you will be given the option to buy caps to suits the number of gates you intend to make.

2. WE ARE MAKING IT AVAILABLE TO ASSIST OUR CUSTOMERS IN FINDING A GATE SOLUTION for 90mm Slats and varied gap installations. 
3. WOODLAND GREY IS A SATIN - OUR STANDARD RANGE IS WOODLAND GREY MATT. There will be a noticeable colour shade difference between the slats and the gate frames!
4. All other colours will be very similar, but may have slight differences... just because they are powder coated by a different supplier.

INSTRUCTIONS: How to make a strong slat gate up to 1600mm wide. (Use two together to make a double gate!)

The gate strength comes from attaching each slat with 4 x tech screws per slat. (2 screws on each side of the gate frame) AND by ensuring that the slats are cut straight and are installed hard against the gate frame. See slat gate installation photos that are included with the product photos.

Note: Temporary spacers are needed until all slats are screwed off. Spacers are then removed.

Our black nylon spacers (5mm, 9mm or 20mm) found in our Quick-Fit category can be used as temporary spacers or for a variety of gaps, spacers can be cut from lengths of dressed pine brought from Bunnings like this 8mm thick one (just find a piece of dressed pine or moulding to suit the gap you would like): https://www.bunnings.com.au/porta-20-x-8mm-1-2m-moulding-pine-coverstrip-square-edge-clear

Basic Installation Steps for Aluminium Slat Gate Frame: (see product photos)

STEP 1 - Lay Gate frames on a blanket on a flat floor.
Attach the first slat level with the top of the gate frames with 1 screw only on each side.
Make sure the slat is hard against the gate frame.

STEP 2 - Install all slats and space them with temporary spacers.

STEP 3 - Attach the last slat with 1 screw only.
Then make sure the gate is square before screwing off all slats with 2 screws. Start with a middle slat first.
